Privacy Policy
humanifying.ai helps you detect AI-written text and rewrite it to read naturally — on the web app and through the Chrome extension. This policy explains exactly what we handle, and what we don't.
The short version
We only use the text you give us to return a result. Text you submit to the detector is processed in the moment and not stored after we return your score. We never sell your data, and we don't track your browsing.
What we handle
- Text you submit. When you scan or humanify text — by pasting it, or by selecting it and using the extension — that text is sent to our servers to produce the detection score or the rewrite, then returned to you.
- Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and a securely hashed password, plus your plan and remaining word credits so we can run your account.
- Basic usage counts. We count words processed against your quota. We do not build advertising profiles.
What we do NOT do
- We do not retain the text you submit to the detector after returning your result.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not track the pages you visit or your browsing history.
- We do not read page content automatically — the extension only acts on text you explicitly select or paste.
The Chrome extension
- Single purpose: detect whether selected or pasted text reads as AI, and rewrite it to read naturally.
- activeTab: we read the current tab's selected text only when you click the extension or choose our right-click menu item — never in the background.
- Network: the extension sends the text you chose to https://humanifying.ai to return a result. No other servers are contacted.
- Storage: we use local browser storage only to briefly pass your selected text to the popup. Nothing is sent anywhere else.
Data security & retention
Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as salted scrypt hashes. Account data is kept while your account is active; you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Your choices
You can use the free detector without an account. You can delete your account and associated data by contacting us. You control what text you submit — we only ever see what you choose to send.
